Re: John's comments @ Central

Central Library does have 10P bike racks. 7 at the back of the building and another 3 at the front facing New St.

Comments from Chris regarding the bike racks he counted:
"I discovered something that would not have crossed my mind in the better weather.

The low bow style can not be easily cleared of snow and can not be seen at all after a bit of a snow fall. The only reason I was able to find them at Tansley is that I new they were there.

Tansley Woods

9 bikes type U
20 bikes type R
21 bikes type L (a different style though. Concrete slab with slots cut out to hold a wheel. Large steel eye hooks attached to the slab to put a chain through.)

The Type U racks were in a lit area next to an entrance

Type L were at the main entrance in a decent area but were covered with snow.

Type R were near the Library entrance on concrete but the snow had not been cleared from around them.

They were also quite far from the entrance and as such not in the most visible area.

I would say that there are no visible racks for the Pool. There are however 2 Type R racks which I am assuming hold 10 bikes sort of in the middle of the parking lot on an island. The racks are covered in bike locks so it is used but apparently it is mostly used by students. Interestingly, I drove around the entire school and did not see any other bike racks so they are wither non existant or covered in snow.

I will do a tour of Ireland once the snow melts"
